WinpScape Update ---------------- This is an update to the WinpScape program supplied with WinPack V6.2. This latest release supports graphics. It was put together as a result of telling someone that it was "impossible" to support graphics with WinpScape. I suddenly thought - "Oh dear, if I'm saying things are impossible, I must be getting old!" It has had very little testing, so please regard it as a beta version and keep your old files in case you find a serious problem. Installation ------------ Replace the following files in your WINPACK directory with the updates in this zip - WINPSCAP.EXE, WINPSCAP.HLP, YAPPMESS.HTM and YAPPFAIL.HTM. Put GRWAIT.WAV and GRDONE.WAV in your WINPACK\WAV directory. The changes in WinpScape since the version released with WinPack V6.2 are as follows:- Changes in WinpScape V2.0b (this version) ---------------------------------------- Graphics are now supported - see the "What WinpScape Does" and "Creating Some Pages" sections of the help. There is now an "Options" menu with two options associated with graphics support - see the "Setting It Up" section of the help. Changes in WinpScape V1.3 ------------------------- An option added to load a page into your browser. This allows you to create a local page with links on it that you can use for connecting to a BBS, or anything else that you can think of. (Loading a page into your browser using the browers own menu options won't work, because the DDE links for the WinpScape protocol types have to be set up after the the page is loaded). Changes in WinpScape V1.2 ------------------------- There was a slight problem with V1.0 that could result in the FBB DOS prompt being left in HTML files downloaded from an FBB BBS. This is now fixed. Two new HTML protocol types have been implemented:- command: any text after the command is sent to WinPack. Example:- command:/bye WinpScape assumes that a command does not result in the return of an HTML page from the other station, so it won't stop you clicking another link immediately after you have clicked a command link. (Contrast this to the behaviour of an ax25, yapp or request link - see below). request: any text after the request is sent to WinPack. Example:- request:/someprog WinpScape assumes that a request does result in the return of an HTML page from the other station, so you will be prevented from clicking another link until the page is received - same behaviour as an ax25 or a yapp link.
